Project ‘Urja’

Energy conservation has become an important need of our time as population levels are rising steady depletion of conventional energy sources. Youths learn to apply engineering principles to achieve energy sustainability.

Objectives

• Developing economically viable green energy alternatives
• Exploring applications of Solar thermal and photovoltaic energy systems
• Studying impact of photosynthesis process on biomass through multi-cropping system
• Optimizing energy consuming systems in Drying, Cooking and Food processing

Project includes

• Use of solar cookers and distillation units
• Use of solar PV systems for energy generation
• Use of biomass for energy generation

Project Outcomes

• Twelve awareness programs in school and colleges have been organized
